We visited for the first time to celebrate a milestone, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish. I started with a brut rosé that struck the perfect balance, not too sweet, and my partner ordered the Improved Whiskey Cocktail, which he thoroughly enjoyed. For our appetizer, we chose the bread, which was wonderful. It tasted fresh and came with butter that had just a hint of sweetness, which paired beautifully. For entrées, my partner had the Figaro Boneless Braised Short Rib and really liked it. He felt the figs might have been slightly on the sweet side for the dish, but overall, the flavors came together nicely. I ordered the Meatball Arrabbiata, and it was delicious. The sauce and meatballs complemented each other perfectly. The pappardelle noodles were tasty, though a bit tricky to twirl and eat. For our second round of drinks, we tried the Frenchie and the Paper Plane. While both were good, we agreed we preferred our first drinks. For me, the elderflower in the Frenchie was a bit strong. We ended the evening by sharing the chocolate gelato, which was divine, rich, creamy, and the perfect sweet ending. Overall, we will definitely be coming back. The service was outstanding, and we loved the interior. The exposed brick and hardwood floors give the space a warm, historic charm.
Our first visit was amazing! We enjoyed the mushroom polenta, grilled Cesar salad, skirt steak boursin sandwich, shrimp bruschetta pasta, and bourbon espresso chocolate chip gelato. Every course was phenomenal, and our server, Mark, was wonderful. We never wanted for anything, and he gave us excellent recommendations. We can't wait to come back and explore the menu further!
Took our adult kids there last night. Beautiful building, exposed brick. Nice service. The food and drinks were wonderful, 6 of us with 6 different amazing meals from seafood to lamb chops and pasta. Will have to go back and sit on the patio.
First time dining here, brought my husband for his birthday with a large party of friends and family. Everyone had a great time, from the food to the service to the atmosphere. We were greeted right away and shown to our table. Lots of space to walk around the table and move around (I hate when you are cramped in and packed like sardines), nobody felt cramped, very comfortable. Our server definitely knew how to make people feel welcome and was very professional for all things he was responsible for. There was always a manager on the floor watching over the dining room to make sure everything was running smoothly. The food was amazing - our table ordered many items: the fresh oysters, steamed mussels, burrata with fresh pesto and tomato jam, seared scallops, mushroom ravioli, wagu steak, grilled shrimp, pecan pie, ice cream, creme brûlée. Everything was cooked just perfect, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an enjoyable night out - especially for celebrations.
wonderful!!!! I will definitely be back, no matter how much I drive 2 hours, this place is worth it. My Valentine's Day was great in this place.
Absolutely delicious. The homemade chef butter is to die for. The Tuscan chicken and rigatoni were both amazing entrees. Lastly, the seasonal cheesecake (Pina colada) was the best I’ve ever had. Our server, Matt, was wonderful.
Visited this local Roselle restaurant today and really enjoyed it. The Bloody Mary was delicious, and all the appetizers and dishes we ordered were very flavorful. The duck was a little sweeter than I usually prefer, but it was still crispy and very tasty. Overall a great experience and a nice local spot to enjoy good food and drinks.
My husband, a couple of friends, and I made a reservation at 1913 to try out the restaurant week menu. This was our first time here and we will definitely be coming back soon. The beef carpaccio and burrata were great starters. The grilled Caesar wedge salad was my favorite bite of the night. The braised short rib was incredibly tender and new york strip was wonderful. To end the meal, we were served generous portions for dessert. We appreciated the attentive and friendly staff. It's a convenient stop near the Roselle metra and I would highly recommend 1918 for any date night!
The food and service are outstanding! If you have a gluten allergy there is no better place. 90% of this menu was either gf or could be made gf. An exceptional selection of whisky and wine. We will most certainly be back. Shout out to Darren for the excellent service!
Amazing food & dining experience. Darren was a great server and made phenomenal recommendations for every course. Can’t wait to go back! Grilled Caesar salad, gluten free bread, and pasta with clams were all amazing! Being gluten free and having an entire menu to choose from is rare.
